The live action for the eagerly-awaited contest between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings is hours away from its commencement. The scheduled start of the game is 7.30 pm IST, but the rain is likely to interrupt the Southern Derby encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. All the RCB fans would be hoping for a damp day, but the persistent rains in the garden city over the last few weeks are casting doubts over an unhindered possibility of play.

According to AccuWeather, there’s a 34 per cent chance of precipitation between 7 and 8 pm, which is definitely something that RCB don’t want. In fact, as the game progresses, the chances of rain too, are going to increase up to 51 per cent, which definitely isn’t something to cheer about for the fans of both the franchises, who are eager to see one of the teams secure a Playoffs’ spot.

Just a friendly reminder that in order to secure the last spot in the top four, the hosts need to win by some margin. To be precise, if they chase around 200 against CSK, Faf du Plessis & Co will have to breach the target under 18.1 overs. If they are to defend, they must restrict the visiting team to below 180, considering the target is around 200. If there is a loss of overs due to rain, RCB’s chances to qualify will further dampen, whereas, CSK simply need to win or lose by a small margin to enter yet another Playoffs.
