IPL 2024 Rajasthan Royals 2nd innings highlights against SRH in 2nd qualifier match

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals came to Chennai to battle it out to make it to the finals of the Indian Premier League 2024 campaign. The winner of the game will face Kolkata Knight Riders at the same venue on Sunday.

Just like the last game, it was Sanju Samson who won the toss and yet again he chose to bowl first. Trent Boult struck thrice in the powerplay overs to dismiss Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram and Rahul Tripathi. The Rajasthan Royals bowlers kept the pressure on Hyderabad with timely wickets.

Heinrich Klaasen though played a lone hand as he scored 50 runs from 34 balls with the help of four sixes. At the end of the innings, SRH could score only 175 runs from 20 overs with Avesh Khan and Boult picking three wickets each while Sandeep Sharma picked 2 scalps.

Powerplay: Overs 0.1 to 6 and time-out(51/1 from 6 overs)

While the Englishman was struggling for runs, Jaiswal didn’t have problems taking on the SRH bowlers. The young batter took on Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the final over before the powerplay to hit him for 19 runs in a single over.

Rajasthan Royals’: 50 runs from 5.5 overs

Yashasvi Jaiswal went after the bowlers while Tom Kohler-Cadmore struggled in the early part of the powerplay. Pat Cummins ended his misery when he had the English batter caught by Tripathi for 10.

Rajasthan Royals: Second Time-out (93/6 from 14 overs)

Once Yashasvi Jaiswal fell the rest of the Royals batters succumbed to the spin of the Hyderabad bowlers. Abhishek Sharma and Shahbaz Ahmed shared 5 wickets between them to put SRH one step closer to the final.

Rajasthan Royals: 100 runs from 15 overs

Dhruv Jurel opened his shoulders and began to play a few shots and with two successive fours off Shahbaz Ahmed the 100 was up for the Royals, With Rovman Powell for company the youngster has the hopes of the entire on his shoulders.

Half-Century: Dhruv Jurel off 26 balls

While none of the Royals batters stood up and put up a fight, young Dhruv Jurel stood alone and waged a lone battle. It was the second half-century of the season for the youngster.

End of the Match: Rajasthan Royals 139/7 from 20 overs

It was a clinical performance from Sunrisers Hyderabad as their spinners broke the back of the Royals. Pat Cummins was a happy camper as SRH made it to their third final in the IPL by winning the game by 36 runs and will play KKR for the third time this season.
