After winning the IPL in 2023, MS Dhoni announced that he would undergo knee surgery and would decide his cricketing future. It was then confirmed that the CSK skipper will feature in IPL 2024 but there is no clarity about his future beyond that. Speaking of the same, Deepak Chahar mentioned that Dhoni is fit enough and can continue playing for at least two more years.
Chahar recalled how Dhoni smashed massive sixes against quality pacers in the last edition and stated that he is still doing the same in the nets. He also revealed that the the stumper-batter will decide about his future after the upcoming edition of the IPL, which is slated to begin on March 22 with CSK taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chidambaram Stadium.

“In T20s you retire when you feel 140kmph is extremely fast. Last year, you see how MS Dhoni hit sixes against 145kmph and we see that in the nets as well,” Chahar said in a video released on Aakash Chopra’s YouTube video. “He will play this year. I think he will decide after this season. I personally think he can play for two years.”
Meanwhile, Dhoni is expected to join the CSK camp later in the week. He was invited to the pre-wedding bash of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant and is reported to have gone back to Ranchi.
