Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, several countries have assured full participation of their players in the entire tournament such as Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Cricket West Indies (CWI), Cricket South Africa (CSA), New Zealand Cricket (NZC) and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC). According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will conduct the 17th edition of the tournament from March 22 till the end of May.

However, the exact dates are yet to be finalized due to the general elections in 2024 in the country next summer, with the schedule dependent on the election schedule. While most of the boards have approved for full participation of their players, England, Ireland, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh boards have given conditional approval.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, most of the players from Australia will be available for the IPL apart from fast bowler Josh Hazlewood, who will play in the league from the first week of May. Cricket Australia (CA) has informed BCCI, that its players will be available for the entire tournament except for Hazlewood, and those playing in the final of the Sheffield Shield.

Furthermore, the players have the option to choose IPL over the Sheffield Shield final, which takes place from March 21 to 25. Apart from that, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has ensured the availability of all its players unless unfit or have international duties.

Young wrist spinner Rehan Ahmed has withdrawn his name from the auction and the availability of their other players is subject to England’s schedule ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 scheduled to be played from June 4 to 30 in the Caribbean and the US.
