KKR vs SRH. (Source -IPL/BCCI)
Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad clashed in the Final of the Indian Premier League 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26. SRH won the toss and opted to bat first. In no time the SRH top order was back in the hut and they were reeling on 6 for 2. No other batter crossed the 25-run mark and after 14 overs they were 90 for 8. Pat Cummins played a responsible knock of 24 runs at the end and SRH posted a paltry 113.
Chasing a gettable target of 114, KKR lost Sunil Narine in the second over. But Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Venkatesh Iyer made the chase look like a walk in the park. They put up a 92-run stand for the second wicket and KKR were home. Iyer shined with 52 off 36 and KKR won the Final by 8 wickets and also their third IPL title.

Mitchell Starc was spitting fire in the powerplay and Abhishek Sharma was at the receiving end of it. Bowling the fifth delivery of the first over, Starc bowled an angled ball that trajected inward but nipped away to breach the defence of Abhishek.

2. Venkatesh Iyer takes Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the cleaners
Just when KKR had lost Sunil Narine, things seemed worrisome for the Men-in-Purple. But Venkatesh Iyer eased the atmosphere as he struck Bhuvneshwar for a boundary and two consecutive sixes. That over fetched 20 runs and hampered SRH’s hopes further.
