Shubman Gill and his Gujarat Titans side head to Lucknow to play their 5th game of the IPL 2024 season. The IPL 2022 winners have a 50% success rate so far winning twice and losing on two occasions.
The loss against Punjab Kings in the last game will rankle Gujarat Titans as they saw two unfancied names dash their hopes of a win. This was despite the home side posting a massive score of 199 runs on the board.
Gujarat Titans will be wary of the threat that Lucknow Super Giants possess with the bat and ball. Nicholas Pooran and Mayank Yadav have been in terrific form for LSG which has seen them win their previous two encounters.

Here is the probable playing XI for Gujarat Titans against LSG in IPL 2024, Match 21:
Openers – Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha

Young Shubman Gill scored a graceful 89 not out to showcase his form from the IPL 2023 season. It is going to be a test by fire for the right-handed batter against the pace of Mayank Yadav.
Veteran wicketkeeper and batter, Wriddhiman Saha hasn’t made the greatest of starts to his IPL 2024 season. The 39-year-old has been safe behind the stumps but his batting form has taken a huge dip.
Middle-order – Kane Williamson, Sai Sudharsan and Abhinav Manohar

Playing his 1st game of IPL 2024, Kane Williamson scored 26 runs off 22 balls along with some trademark crisp shots. The Kiwi batting star knows that he has to score big runs if he has to keep his spot in the team and edge, David Miller, out of the equation.
Sai Sudharsan has taken consistency to a new level this season for the Titans. While the young batter from Chennai has been getting starts, the big score has eluded him. GT will be banking on Sudharsan to keep scoring the runs and hopefully make a huge score. The bad form of Vijay Shankar could finally give Abhinav Manohar the chance that he has been waiting for.

All-rounders – Azmatullah Omarzai, Rahul Tewatia, and Rashid Khan

Rahul Tewatia was sensational with the bat during his brief knock against Punjab. The 30-year-old though needs to be consistent with the bat for the benefit of his side. Rashid Khan hasn’t been able to make the same impression that he has been known for.
The right-arm spin wizard will want to come back to his best and the surface in Lucknow could very well aid Rashid Khan. Azmatullah Omarzai has enjoyed his debut season of IPL and has been impressive with the ball. It is his batting that has to improve as he is more than capable while wielding the willow.
Bowlers – Noor Ahmed, Kartik Tyagi, and Mohit Sharma

Left-arm wrist spinner Noor Ahmed has only played two games but has already picked three wickets. His flight and guile have left many of the batters finding him unplayable on certain occasions. With Umesh Yadav misfiring, the Titans side may be forced to give young Kartik Tyagi a look-in.
The 23-year-old is one of the best young pace bowling talents in India and a trip to LSG could very well see him make his IPL debut for GT. Mohit Sharma will walk into Lucknow and continue to do what he has done so far. The 35-year-old has been the best bowler in the early stages of IPL 2024 across all ten teams.
