In a surprising turn of events, Gujarat Titans retained Hardik Pandya for IPL 2024. He was on the verge of joining five-time champions Mumbai Indians but a late drama on the retention day saw him stay back at the franchise that signed him two years back.
Notably, being part of the two new franchises that was introduced in 2021, Gujarat Titans announced Hardik Pandya as the leader of the locker room. In his very first year, the all-rounder managed to win the championship and in the following year, GT came close but lost to Chennai Super Kings in the final in Ahmedabad.
Other than that, Gujarat have managed to retain their core squad for the upcoming season and will once again aim to fight for the title. However, a late twist regarding Pandya remains on the card.
