In a surprising turn of events, the upcoming IPL 2024 season has found itself at the centre of a captaincy controversy. The seasoned all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, who recently made a mega move from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians for a staggering 15 crores, is set to take on the captaincy mantle for Mumbai Indians.
Adding fuel to the fire, the IPL 2024 mini auction saw the release of a promotional poster by Jio Cinema, the official broadcaster, featuring Hardik Pandya in the Mumbai Indians’ colours. However, this move did not sit well with fans who were quick to point out the absence of Rohit Sharma, an IPL legend, from the promotional material.
