Delhi Capitals – 127/7 after 15 overs – Second Strategic Time Out
The partnership of Hope and skipper Axar Patel was great as they were able to get some runs and offered some chance to their side to chase down the mammoth total. However, their 56-run stand came to an end when Lockie Ferguson dismissed him in the 10th over of the innings.
The hosts removed the dangerous Tristan Stubbs a few overs later with a brilliant piece of fielding once again. The skipper was left to bat with the lower-order batters and was playing the big shots to keep his team with a chance. He staged an important partnership with Rasikh Salim Dar, who played second fiddle well. However, his 12-ball stay came to an end after Cameron Green dismissed him.
Delhi Capitals – 140 all-out after 19.1 overs
Axar Patel also departed after the second strategic timeout as Yash Dayal picked up another. However, it was a great display from the all-rounder as he notched up 57 runs from 39 balls. Only the tailenders were left now and the win was all but guaranteed for the hosts. Lockie Ferguson removed Mukesh Kumar through a great bouncer and Mahipal Lomror caught the ball well. Yash Dayal picked up the final wicket and got the 5th consecutive win for the franchise.
