Revealing that later in the day, the youngster mentioned that he was talking to his parents as he mistakenly booked them a flight to Amritsar instead of Hyderabad, the venue for the encounter. Meanwhile, in the match against LSG, Sharma wreaked havoc as SRH won the match by 10 wickets. Chasing 166 runs, he along with opening partner Travis Head hit boundaries for fun and chased the total down in just 9.4 overs. Sharma smashed 75* runs off 28 balls, while Head hit 89* runs off 30 deliveries as SRH picked up one of the biggest wins in IPL history.
With the massive win, Hyderabad strengthened their position in the playoffs race, which has now become intense. Courtesy of winning seven out of 12 matches so far, the Pat Cummins-led side are currently third on the points table. If the franchise wins its remaining matches, that is against Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings, they will qualify for the playoffs, else they might have to depend on the results of other teams. Meanwhile, Chennai, Delhi, Lucknow are fourth, fifth and sixth respectively and all of them have 12 points each.
