Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will go toe-to-toe with Kolkata Knight Riders in match 47 of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday, May 4 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The Orange Army defeated Knight Riders by a margin of 23 runs when both sides met earlier in the tournament in the reverse fixture at Eden Gardens.
Aiden Markram’s SRH are not having the best of the seasons as they have played eight matches so far with just three victories and five defeats. With six points and a net run rate (NRR) of – 0.577, they are lingering down at the ninth position on the IPL 2023 points table. On the other hand, Nitish Rana’s KKR are having an even worse campaign as they have played nine games with three wins and six losses.
With six points and a NRR of – 0.147, they are placed above SRH in the eighth position on the table. Speaking about the home side, their confidence must be high in facing KKR as they beat them in their own den courtesy of a spectacular century from Harry Brook. Notably, time is running out for both sides as they look to clinch a crucial victory and get those two points before the season reaches its business end.
