It will be the clash of the two in-form sides in the competition when Sunrisers Hyderabad host five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the 25th match of IPL 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday, April 18. Both teams head into the fixture on the back of comprehensive victories in their previous encounter.

Talking about the home side, Sunrisers Hyderabad were completely outplayed in their first two fixtures of the ongoing tournament. But the arrival of skipper Aiden Markram has steadied the ship for the Hyderabad-based outfit, who looked much more expressive and confident in their last two fixtures.

While Markram has been in terrific form himself, the Proteas star will be delighted with Harry Brook’s sensational century in the game against KKR. The prodigious English batter finally showcased his skills in the 16th edition of the tournament after a series of failures with the bat in the earlier fixtures.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians have finally found their groove in this year’s tournament after dispatching Nitish Rana’s KKR with utter ease to make it two wins in two matches. Ishan Kishan’s trailblazing half-century bodes well for the Mumbai-based outfit, while Suryakumar Yadav’s return to form is a warning sign for the rest of the teams in the competition.

Pitch and Conditions

The previous encounter at this venue was a high-scoring affair as both teams managed to breach the 200-run mark in their respective innings. The surface is expected to remain flat for the entirety of the game, and fans can expect another run-fest at this venue.

Probable Playing XI for SRH vs MI

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Although the Sunrisers Hyderabad fired on all cylinders in their previous encounter, the lack of runs from Mayank Agarwal’s bat is becoming a concern for the team management. Marco Jansen’s exploits with the new ball was one of the highlights of the previous game, while Mayank Markande keeps on impressing with his leg spin.

Probable Playing XI: Harry Brook, Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram (c), Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, Umran Malik, T Natarajan

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai’s regular skipper Rohit Sharma, who came in as an Impact sub in the last game, is expected to be fit for their upcoming fixture. While Jofra Archer remains troubled with niggles, veteran leggie Piyush Chawla has become an invaluable asset for the Mumbai-based franchise.

Probable Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Cameron Green, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tim David, Nehal Wadhera, Hrithik Shokeen, Piyush Chawla, Duan Jansen, Riley Meredith
