With the 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) right around the corner, one of the newest franchises in the tournament, the Lucknow Super Giants, unveiled their latest jersey that they will be donning for this year’s IPL.

The team hosted a fashion show at the unveiling ceremony, and to top it off, stars of the franchise joined the show as well. Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Jaydev Undakat, Deepak Hooda, and skipper KL Rahul were present at the unveiling ceremony.

Secretary of the BCCI Jay Shah, owner of LSG Sanjeev Goenka, and team mentor Gautam Gambhir were also among the crowd as the team released their new jersey. The kit is dark blue in colour with red stripes on the sides; the team will hope that the new jersey will bring needed luck to their side as IPL approaches.

Gautam Gambhir reflects on what LSG needs ahead of IPL

As the world’s biggest T20 league is scheduled to begin on March 31, Lucknow Super Giants will be going up against Delhi Capitals in the third match of the competition. This year’s IPL also brings back the home and away format.

Taking advantage of the home conditions and the crowd support could be integral for the teams competing. Talking about the same, team mentor Gautam Gambhir reflected on what could be important for the team going into the tournament.

Gambhir opined that consistency will be the key to their campaign. He also stressed the importance of adaptability to differing conditions. Gambhir further stated that the playing conditions are going to be different everywhere, wherever the team plays. Whether be it in Jaipur or Chennai, adapting to the playing conditions could prove to be integral.

The Sanjiv Goenka-owned RSPG group had bagged the bidding rights and successfully bought the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise for a whopping 7,090 crores. Moreover, they went big in the mega auction by buying key players like KL Rahul (INR 17 crores) and Marcus Stoinis (INR 9.2 crores), respectively.
