Spin wizard Kuldeep Yadav got the better of Moeen Ali and managed to settle his old score with Moeen Ali in the match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals in the ongoing IPL 2023. Notably, Mooen had hit him for 26 runs in an over in 2019, when the spinner used to play for Kolkata Knight Riders.

However, the left-arm wrist spinner finally managed to take his revenge as the England international walked back to the pavilion after scoring seven runs off 12 deliveries. Notably, Moeen came out to bat at number four and was expected to take control of the situation as both CSK openers failed to make a mark in the match. However, the 35-year-old got out in the 10th over oas Mitchell Marsh picked up an easy catch at backward point.

Dube, Dhoni help Chennai post 167 runs on board

After a poor start from the home team at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, the four-time champions needed something special with the bat and that is exactly what Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni delivered. Batting at number five, Dube smashed 25 off 12 to bail CSK out of a difficult situation. Even though the all-rounder failed to capitalise, he helped Chennai regain momentum in the match.

Later on, Ravindra Jadeja (21 off 16) and Ambati Rayudu (23 off 17) stepped up to make a difference. After Rayudu’s dismissal, MS Dhoni changed CSK’s fortune. At one stage when 150 was looking difficult for CSK, the 41-year-old played a quick cameo of 20 runs off nine deliveries to help the team post 167 runs on board.

Delhi, meanwhile, were looking good with the ball, with Mitchell Marsh once again making a solid impact. The Australia international picked up three wickets while Axar Patel picked up two. Khaleel Ahmed, Lalit Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav picked up one each.
