India's 15-member squad for Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024 announced

The Women’s Selection Committee on Saturday, July 06 announced the Team India (Senior Women) squad for the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup T20, 2024 which is set to take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

India, who are in Group A in the tournament, will play their opening game of the tournament against Pakistan on July 19, 2024. Apart from India and Pakistan, UAE and Nepal are also among the four teams of the Group A for the coveted tournament.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will then take on the UAE on July 21, 2024 followed by their clash against Nepal on July 23, 2024 in the group stage of the tournament.

Regular captain and vice-captain duo of Harmanpreet and Smriti Mandhana will be seen at the helm of their duties at the multinational tournament. Star cricketers Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Renuka Singh Thakur are also a part of the 15-member squad.

The wicketkeeping duties have been retained with Richa Ghosh, while Uma Chetry is expected to go as her backup. Youngsters like Shreyanka Patil, Sajana Sajeevan, and Asha Sobhana have also been announced as an integral part by the selectors.

The pace attack will be spearheaded by Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy and Renuka. Moreover, four reserves in the name of Shweta Sehrawat, Saika Ishaque, Tanuja Kanwer and Meghna Singh will also travel to the island nation along with the Women in Blue.
