When India traveled to Bangladesh to play a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series, the common opinion was that it was going to be a cakewalk for the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side. However, the home side has given a great account of themselves and made India work hard for their wins. The T20I series saw Harmanpreet Kaur’s side winning 2-1.

Bangladesh started the subsequent ODI series with a historic win against India, which was their first victory against their neighbours in the 50-over format. India managed to come back strongly and win the second ODI by 108 runs to level the series heading into the final ODI on Saturday, July 22.

During the gap between the second and third ODIs, the Indian team paid a visit to the India House in Dhaka where they were hosted by India Commissioner Pranay Verma and Mrs Manu Verma for dinner. BCCI Women posted some images from the occasion on Twitter.

I would be lying to say that I was not under pressure [in the second ODI]: Jemimah Rodrigues

Jemimah Rodrigues was the star performer for India in the second ODI as she had a memorable day with the bat as well as the ball. She scored a fluent 78-ball 86 in the first innings before picking up four Bangladeshi wickets for just three runs. After the match, the 22-year-old admitted that she was under pressure because of how the hosts played in the first ODI. About her bowling, the off-spinner said that she didn’t try anything extra. She just focused on landing the ball in the right areas and allowed the pitch to do the rest.

“I would be lying to say that I was not under pressure, we saw how Bangladesh were in the first game. But as a team, we spoke about how we can respond after a loss. Harman and I were going really well then Harleen came in and gave us that push,” the youngster said during the post-match presentation ceremony.

“I didn’t try to do anything extra, just tried to pitch it in the right areas and allow the surface to do the rest, credit to the management for believing in my bowling,” she added.
