Indian Premier League has easily been the most successful franchise cricket tournament throughout the world and limiting the Indian domestic players to playing in only this tournament has been one of the key factors in its success. Though initially included, Pakistani players were removed from the later editions of this tournament and it has been a rare sight to see players from both teams together on the field.
Pakistan started a similar tournament of their own and as has been the case, Indian players have refrained from participating in it. However, letting our imaginary horses go wild, if some of the prominent faces from India participated in this league then what teams would they be most suited with?
Let’s look at the Indian cricketers and their perfect matches from PSL teams:
Ravindra Jadeja – Multan Sultans

Packed with quality batters like Dawid Malan, Reeza Hendricks, Mohammad Rizwan, and Khushdil Shah while the bowling line-up has been handled well by Reece Topley, Usama Mir, Shahnawaz Dahani and Chris Jordan, Multan Sultans have good single-dimensional players who can play their parts well.
Ravindra Jadeja can be a brilliant addition to the team because he can support the team from all three sides – batting, bowling, and fielding, which the current team lacks. They only have the likes of Iftikhar Ahmed and David Willey as all-rounders in their set-up.
Jasprit Bumrah – Peshawar Zalmi

Jasprit Bumrah is a world-class bowler who possesses qualities only limited others do. Scalping wickets at the start as well as the end overs while controlling the game well in the middle overs, Bumrah can turn around any bowling attack and Peshawar Zalmi looks like a team who needs a spearhead pacer in their side which can be easily done by Bumrah.
Lungi Ngidi and Naveen-ul-Haq can provide good support from others and form a lethal pace battery. Babar and Bumrah in the same team can be something one can only imagine in their fantasy teams.
Rohit Sharma- Karachi Kings

Rohit Sharma has been another player who has immense success under his belt leading any side. He can do the same for Karachi Kings as well who have a brilliant team on paper but have not been able to transform that on the field. He can be the attacking opener beside Shan Masood as well.
Solid batters, experienced all-rounders and a potent bowling attack, a believing captain like Rohit Sharma is the only thing missing from the arsenal of Karachi Kings.
Virat Kohli – Islamabad United

Islamabad United probably have the best all-rounders the PSL has to offer. With Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Tom Curran, Faheem Ashraf and Agha Salman, Islamabad is contented with the middle order, however, they would like some solidity on top of the order.
With the consistency of Virat Kohli, run-making at the top of the order can be taken care of. Alex Hales, Colin Munro and Virat Kohli would probably make the most handsome top order in this tournament.
MS Dhoni – Quetta Gladiators

Quetta Gladiators have some of the best talent pool available in this tournament with a fantastic mix of experience as well as young explosivity, yet they have failed to do well in the past few seasons. MS Dhoni can turn the fate around for this team as they have been facing successive failures.
With more than enough cricket still left in him, Dhoni can just be the explosive finisher they have been looking for but lead the team as well. It would be interesting to see Dhoni’s charm in the Pakistan Super League.
