India take on Sri Lanka in Asia Cup final
As for India’s on-field performances, the side has made it to the summit clash of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. Comfortably making it to the Super Four stage of the competition, India defeated Pakistan and Sri Lanka in back-to-back matches to book their berth in the summit clash.
The side qualified for the final even before playing in their final game of the Super Four stage against Bangladesh on Friday, September 15. As the first team to qualify for the final, India will once again be taking on Sri Lanka in the summit clash of the tournament on Sunday, September 17, at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
Sri Lanka made it to the final after defeating Pakistan in the Super Four stage in what was a virtual semi-final. In a game that was shortened due to rain, Pakistan put 252 runs on the board in 42 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka put forth excellent performances as Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, and Charith Asalanka played brilliant knocks and propelled Sri Lanka to a win and the summit clash.
