India (IND-W) will take on West Indies (WI-W) in the second ODI of their ongoing series, at the Kotambi Stadium, in Vadodara, on Tuesday, December 24.

The Women in Blue dominated the first game, winning it comfortably by 211 runs, which also happened to be their second-largest victory in the format. It was a clinical team performance by the home side after being asked to bat first as they hammered 314 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Star opener Smriti Mandhana anchored the innings with her 91-run knock and was partnered by the other batters very well. For the visitors, Zaida James was the pick of the bowler, claiming a five-wicket haul.

On the contrary, the Hayley Matthews-led side faced a batting collapse in the second innings and failed to chase down the heavy total. The tourists were eventually bundled out for a mere 103 runs, thanks to Renuka Singh Thakur’s efforts with the ball, as she claimed an impressive fiffer. The Caribbean side will be looking to win the upcoming match to remain alive in the series and avoid defeat.
