The first of three matches between India and Bangladesh is all set to be played at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on October 6, 2024.

A four-day gap between the final day of the second Test and the first T20I might have seemed like a lifetime. However, a youthful India would be bubbling to take up a challenge which cannot be completely negated. While India’s side may seem more inexperienced than Bangladesh, it surely has loads of 20-over talent filled in it.

Both the sides brim with versatility and it is set to be an entertaining watch. As for Bangladesh, who don’t usually have a lot of T20Is in their cricketing itenarary, the upcoming series will come as a surprising refreshment to Bangladesh, who would want to showcase their on-field skills.

While the Test series saw the hosts bulldoze past the visitors who looked vulnerable on several counts, the 20-over series can be anticipated to be a more closely-fought affair between the two sides.

Pitch Report

With this one being the first international game to be played in Gwalior, the exact conditions of the pitch and how it will play out remain unknown. Batting first would be the way to go going by the trend of the T20Is played in India in the last year. Some amount of dew might be expected in the latter stages of the game.

Predicted Playing XI

India

The hosts have a fresh top-order and seam-bowling attack as a number of regulars have been rested. Mayank Yadav is most likely to make his international debut.

Predicted XI: Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Suryakumar Yadav (c), Riyan Parag, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi/Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav, Arshdeep Singh

Bangladesh

With Mehidy Hasan Miraz having been recalled to the T20I setup post Shakib Al Hasan’s T20I retirement, the middle-order appears to be quite beefed up for Bangladesh.
