After notching up massive wins in both the T20Is played so far, India will hope to complete a clean sweep against Bangladesh in the third T20I at Hyderabad.
At Delhi, India found themselves in trouble after being reduced to 41/3, but Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh answered with aggressive fifties and a massive partnership of 108. Hardik Pandya’s late flourish then took India beyond the 200 run-mark, en route to the Men in Blue posting their highest T20I total against Bangladesh.
The visitors were never actually in the game. Bangladesh lost wickets early in the powerplay and never really seemed to be recovering. Reddy picked up two wickets alongside his fifty, and all the Indian bowlers who bowled picked up at least one wicket. India completed an easy 86-run victory to clinch the series with one match to go.
The third match might be a dead rubber, but it holds significance for Bangladesh’s Mahmudullah who had earlier announced that this match would be his last T20I. Mahmudullah will finish as the joint third-highest capped player in the format, alongside Ireland’s George Dockrell, who might yet play more.
The upcoming milestones for players in the India vs Bangladesh, 3rd T20I are:
