The Men in Blue will be travelling to the rainbow nation in November 2024 for a four-match T20I series, the schedule for which was announced recently by Cricket South Africa (CSA).
The series opener will be played in Durban on November 08. The next three matches will then be played at the Gqeberha, Centurion, and Johannesburg, respectively, with the competition ending on Friday, November 15.
This will be India’s second tour to South Africa in the last twelve months, as the last match-up happened in December 2023-24 for an all-format series. The last T20I series between the two was tied 1-1, as the first game was abandoned due to rain.

Any tour by the Indian cricket team to our shores is filled with amazing camaraderie and exciting cricket, and I know our fans will be eagerly awaiting this series, which will showcase the exceptional talent from both teams,” Lawson Naidoo, CSA Chairperson was quoted as saying as per a board release.

The Indian Cricket Team has consistently received immense appreciation and love from South African fans, and this sentiment is equally strong among Indian fans towards the South African side. I am confident that the upcoming series will once again highlight the on-field cricketing excellence and deliver enthralling, high-intensity contests.”

Notably, India will be hosting New Zealand for a multi-format series till November 05, 2024 and with the South Africa tour scheduled in such a short span, a different squad is expected to travel to the rainbow nation. Moreover, Australia are also to host India for a multi-format series starting November 22, starting with the first Test at Perth. As a result, there might be different squads according to the change in format.
