The Men’s Selection Committee has picked the India A squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 to be played from 18th to 27th October 2024 in Muscat, Oman.

India A is placed in Group B with Oman, Pakistan A, and UAE while Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka A form Group A. India A will begin its campaign by facing Pakistan A on October 19, 2024, at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat.

The A squad features fifteen names, and the majority of them are currently busy in the first round of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 the opening round. All the announced names will have to vacate their state teams for the second and third rounds to ply their trade for the Emerging side for the tournament starting October 19.

Left-hand batter from Hyderabad, Tilak Varma will be captaining the team, and Punjab all-rounder Abhishek Sharma is set to be his deputy. Both of them have played for the senior team, and as a result, the have been exposed to international cricket. The wicketkeeping duties will be taken care of by Prabhsimran Singh and Anuj Rawat, while Vaibhav Arora and Rahul Chahar are among the frontline bowlers named for the continental tournament.

India A will be facing Pakistan A in their tournament opener at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat on Saturday, October 19. In fact, all the matches for the 20-over tournament are set to be played at the same venue. The next two games for the Men in Blue will be against the UAE and hosts Oman on October 21 and 23, respectively.
