India Women finished Day 1 of the one-off Test against South Africa in the driver’s seat as they were 525/4 at stumps. The hosts resumed their innings with overnight batters Harmanpreet Kaur (42*) and Richa Ghosh (43*) at the crease.

For Proteas Delmi Tucker was the best performer with the ball scalping two wickets. Laura Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch walked into bat in pursuit of giving their side a solid start. Both the batters started cautiously and were playing the new ball well as they took the side unharmed till Lunch.
