IND vs ENG 2024: Yashasvi Jaiswal mauls James Anderson in hat-trick of sixes in Rajkot

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in prolific form in Test cricket ever since he made his debut in the Caribbean last year. On Sunday, February 18, the talented youngster hit the legendary James Anderson for three consecutive sixes in the 85th over of India’s second innings of the third Test against England in Rajkot.

Yashasvi registered his third Test century on Day 3 before retiring hurt due to a back spasm. He was batting on 104 in India’s second innings before deciding to walk off the field to address his back issues. Many were concerned about his condition but he walked out to bat at the fall of Shubman Gill’s wicket in the first session on Day 4 and showed no signs of discomfort.

Jaiswal took the attack to the English bowlers but the highlight of his knock came in the second session as he took Anderson down with a hat-trick of sixes. The southpaw bent down to sweep a low full toss for a six over deep square leg to start the onslaught. The second six came when Jaiswal jumped out of his crease to a delivery that was full and wide and carved it over deep extra cover. Anderson looked rattled and he dished out an innocuous length delivery that was hit over his head for the third six in the over.
