Visitors Bangladesh are all set to take on the hosts India each other in the second Test of the ongoing series. Both sides will face off at Green Park, in Kanpur, starting on Friday, September 27. Ahead of the clash, one of the stands named Balcony ‘C’ stand at the venue was earlier ‘deemed dangerous’ by the Uttar Pradesh Public Work Department (UP-PWD). However, in a fresh development, the section in concern has been cleared for use ahead of the second Test following repair work and a safety report which came back positive by Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU).

It is worth noting that the section will have a seating capacity of 1,700 spectators at the top and 1,900 at the bottom. The UP PWD had earlier asked the UPCA to sell less than half the tickets of the capacity of the Balcony C Stand. The venue’s director, Sanjay Kapoor, recently came forward and stated that an additional 5,000 seats have been installed ahead of the second Test. Furthermore, he also talked about the quality of floodlights around the stadium.

“The Green Park Stadium has been decked up and all preparations have been completed. This match will be celebrated not just in the Green Park stadium but throughout Kanpur,” Kapoor was quoted as saying by News18.
