Rohit Sharma took a fine one-handed catch to dismiss Litton Das, giving Mohammed Siraj his first wicket in the second Test between India and Bangladesh at Green Park, Kanpur on Monday, September 30.
After only 35 overs of play was possible on the first three days of the rain-marred Test, Day 4 started on time as Bangladesh resumed their innings at 107/3. Jasprit Bumrah drew first blood as he cleaned up Mushfiqur Rahim with a ball that jagged back in after pitching. The experienced batter misjudged the delivery completely and shouldered arms, failing to account for the massive inward movement.

However, while this dismissal was dramatic, India’s second wicket for the day got the fans out of their seats in excitement. Litton Das, who was promoted up the batting order ahead of Shakib Al Hasan, hit three boundaries in an over bowled by Bumrah. He scored 12 off his first 10 balls before getting into a shell. He scored just a solitary run off the next 19 balls he faced. The wicketkeeper-batter decided to break the shackles against Siraj as he danced down the track and whacked a length ball around off-stump. Litton had no intentions of keeping the ball along the turf but failed to clear Rohit at mid-off.

The Indian captain kept his eyes on the ball and timed his jump to perfection to catch the ball with an outstretched right hand. Rohit was understandably delighted after taking the catch as Litton looked on in disbelief.
