Watching Rohit Sharma on a flat track smashing it all over the park is a familiar sight for cricket fans around the globe, but watching him throw his wicket away is a rare sight.
Much was expected from the India skipper in the fourth Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad after Australia piled on the runs on Day 2, but the right-handed batter disappointed and was dismissed early on Day 3.
Rohit, who opened the innings with Shubman Gill on Day 2, got off to a promising start and was unbeaten on 17 at stumps. Rohit was in the mood in the first hour of play on Day 3, pulled a Starc bouncer over the fence, and looked in pristine touch.
Rohit looked set for a big knock but got out cheaply after trying to punch a deliver off Matthew Kuhnemann that held up on the surface straight to Marnus Labuschagne for 35.
The opener was not fully committed and played a reckless shot that could have been avoided and looked frustrated with himself with the manner of his dismissal and looked disappointed on his way back to the pavilion.
