Indian opener KL Rahul has become a topic of debate in the media after his prolonged failure in the ongoing Border Gavaskar series. Amidst all the ruckus, the Indian cricketer and his wife Athiya Shetty visited the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Ujjain. The duo were seen taking the blessings of the almighty in a latest video.

KL Rahul’s place in the Indian team has come under scrutiny after the ace batter failed to make his mark in the first two Test matches of the series against Australia. While he has got the backing of head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma, people are increasingly adamant about the return of inform Shubman Gill to the Test side.

The Indian opener, who recently tied the knot with Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty, visited the renowned Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Ujjain ahead of the third Test in Indore. They were seen worshipping in the temple while donning traditional attire in a video that surfaced on Sunday.

The flamboyant cricketer was stripped of his vice-captaincy role for the remaining matches of the series, making the fans question his place in the side for the upcoming third Test in Indore, commencing on March 1. While former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri acknowledged Rahul’s exploits with the bat, he felt that form plays an important role as well, and the management cannot hold back young players who are in good form.

“They will have to see form, his state of mind. He’s a tremendous player, but talent is only so much. You have to convert that into results and be consistent. There’s so much talent in India who is knocking the door. It’s not just KL Rahul, there are many in middle-order and bowling lineup as well,” said the former India head coach.
