Ahead of the fourth and final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Roger Binny felicitated Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese with the portrait of the politician.
Former India head coach Ravi Shastri introduced Binny and explained that the artwork is created with the flair of India and Australia’s Test cricket over the past 75 years. Later, the former cricketer handed it to Albanese as both of them shook hands on the big stage.
Soon after that, Shastri introduced the skippers of both India and Australia as they were handed their Test caps by their respective Prime Ministers. While Narendra Modi handed the cap to Rohit Sharma, Anthony Albanese presented the Baggy Green to Steve Smith, who is in charge of the side in the absence of Pat Cummins. Later, both politicians took a lap of honour across the ground to celebrate India’s 75 years of friendship with Australia.
