Adidas, India’s new kit sponsor has launched a brand new jersey for Team India. On Saturday, June 3, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill and Renuka Singh Thakur among a few others were spotted wearing the jersey as BCCI shared the video on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
Notably, the Rohit Sharma-led side will next take on Australia in the World Test Championship finale, which is slated to begin on June 7 at The Oval in England. The team has already reached London and the practice sessions are currently underway. However, there’s still a massive dilemma on who should India play at number six, since Rishabh Pant is currently injured.
Many of the former players including Ricky Ponting and Mohammad Kaif have backed Ishan Kishan to take up the role while the likes of Harbhajan Singh and Dinesh Karthik expect KS Bharat to start as the wicket-keeper in the playing XI.
One other thing that India need to sort out at the moment is their bowling combination. It will be interesting to see if the team backs both Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin or play an extra pacer against Australia.
Meanwhile, after the one-off Test, India will play a white-ball series against the West Indies and is also expected to play in the Asia Cup before the all-important ODI World Cup in India.
When it comes to the women’s team, it won the last Asia Cup and also qualified for the semi-finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup in February. The pool of women’s cricket in India is looking as robust as ever after the new crop recently made its presence felt on the global stage as they defeated England in the inaugural U19 Women’s World Cup held in South Africa.
