Ajit Agarkar has been appointed as the new chief selector of the Indian men’s cricket team, almost four months after Chetan Sharma’s departure following a shocking TV sting operation. This selection is significant as Agarkar is only the second player from the Indian Premier League to become the chief selector. The selection committee now consists of Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola, Sridharan Sharath, and Agarkar.
His former teammate and friend, Yuvraj Singh came up with a tweet and congratulated him for getting the new role of Chief Selector. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Agarkar as the chief selector for the national men’s cricket team following the recommendation of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).
Yuvraj wished him luck on Twitter and said that he has full confidence in Agarkar’s ability as he will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Indian cricket. Agarkar’s appointment was based on his seniority and impressive cricketing career, which included 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and four T20Is.
