After being put in to bat first, MI posted a massive score of 208/3 in their allotted 20 overs riding on Andre Fletcher (53 off 37) and captain Nicholas Pooran (57* off 27).
In reply, Dubai Capitals’ chase never got going as they lost their opener Leus du Plooy (0 off 2) on the second ball of their innings. Tom Abell (14 off 16), Sikandar Raza (10 off 13) and Rovman Powell (8 off 9) failed to get going for Dubai as they failed to keep up with the required run rate. Only captain Sam Billings (40 off 29) and Tom Banton (35 off 20) showed some fight but their knocks weren’t enough to take their team over the line.
As a result, Dubai could only reach 163/7 in their allotted 20 overs and lost the match by 45 runs as MI were crowned the champions of the second edition of the ILT20 2024.
