If India win Adelaide Test, they will definitely go into WTC final: Harbhajan Singh

India was under tremendous pressure before travelling to Australia as they lost 3-0 to New Zealand at home. The loss also complicated India’s chance to qualify for the World Test Championship final. However, with a win over Australia in the first Test in Perth, the confidence is back. Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh claimed that if the Rohit Sharma-led side manages to win the next game at Adelaide, they will certainly feature in the summit clash of WTC.

The visitors require a 4-0 series win over Australia to guarantee their spot in the WTC final. Harbhajan also highlighted that qualifying for the final shouldn’t be the priority as he wants the players to focus on the ongoing series.

“If they win another game, I think India will definitely go into the WTC (final) but it’s not important to reach there, it’s important to win we will reach there,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying by News18.

“It was (the) most important win for India because Perth has always been a very happy hunting ground for Australia. To beat them in their backyard is always very difficult, but this is a ground where the happiness of winning doubles because here they (Australia) consider themselves (to be) very strong at this venue. So, well done to team India. I hope this will continue and India (would) go on to win this series 4-1,” he added.

I have been a huge supporter of Bumrah from day one: Harbhajan

Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah led the team in the absence of Rohit Sharma in the first Test. The 30-year-old led from the front as India picked up a comfortable 295-run win over Australia. Speaking on the same, the former off-spinner stated that he has been a massive supporter of Bumrah since his early days at Mumbai Indians and added that characters like him command respect in the dressing room.

“Bumrah is an amazing player, and of course, he has got a great mindset. I have been a huge supporter of Jasprit Bumrah from day one and he has got that very calm kind of personality. He knows his game and he is one of those guys who is a very likable person in the dressing room. He commands a lot of respect in the dressing room so when such a person leads you from the front, the team obviously follows,” he said.
