I would talk about England’s game after the five matches get over: Ravichandran Ashwin

As the India-England Test series is in its mid-series break, the seasoned spinner Ravi Ashwin is keeping a lid on discussions regarding England’s Bazball strategy. Despite the curiosity lingering among fans, Ashwin is playing it close to the chest, suggesting that the intricate details of England’s game plan will only be revealed once the gripping five-match series reaches its conclusion.

Currently deadlocked at 1-1, the next chapter in this cricketing drama is set to unfold on February 15 in Rajkot, adding an extra layer of anticipation and excitement to an already finely poised series.

“I would talk about England’s game, their mental space and everything after the five matches get over. I don’t want to get into the intricate details right now,” Ashwin shared on his YouTube channel.

Shifting the focus to India, Ashwin heaped praise on India’s standout performers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah’s exceptional bowling performance not only made him the leading wicket-taker with 15 wickets but also secured his position as the latest number-one Test bowler globally. Ashwin dubbed Bumrah as the “real show-stealer,” expressing admiration for his extraordinary feat, likening it to a Himalayan achievement.

“The real show stealer is BoomBall,” Ashwin said. “We saw a little of Jaisball also. Jasprit Bumrah has bowled extraordinarily, being the leading wicket-taker with 14 (15) wickets. He is also the latest number-one Test bowler in the world. A big congratulations from my side. I’m a big fan of him. This achievement is a Himalayan feat,” he added.

India faced an early setback in Hyderabad, succumbing to a 28-run defeat in the series opener. However, they bounced back magnificently in the second Test at Vizag, clinching victory by 106 runs.

India are preparing for the third match set to kick off on February 15 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Subsequent encounters are lined up at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi from February 23 and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala from March 7.
