Indian Premier League 2025 mega auctions will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After the retentions lists from every franchise was out on October 31, Punjab Kings retained only two players in the form of Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh. With that, the PBKS became the team with highest purse amount to enter the mega auctions as they have a huge 110.5 crore in their kitty.

As the Punjab based franchise have the luxury to bid for their desired player, their former player, Krishnappa Gowtham has raised alarms over the team culture. Gowtham was part of the PBKS in 2020 season as they had bought him for INR 6.20 crore. With only one stint with the team, the Karnataka batter has now revealed that he he never want to play for Punjab Kings.

“I’m just being very honest. The reason being, I never had a good experience with them. There are other things, just not about cricket. There are other things as well. It’s not the way I would want to be treated as a cricketer. I think there’s a lot more. What I wear on my sleeve is like when I play for a team. It’s always I give 100 percent more than 100 percent on the field. I never keep anything back, but I wouldn’t very. I wouldn’t give more than 100 percent to Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) if they pick me,” said Gowtham speaking to Cricket.com.

Punjab Kings have released the whole squad aiming to rebuild the team. They have also roped in former Australia captain and Delhi Capitals Head Coach, Ricky Ponting as their new Head Coach. It is worth noting that, PBKS have not won an IPL trophy until now and have reached the finals of the tournament only once in 2014.
