‘I would definitely pick him’ - Brett Lee roots for Phil Salt’s inclusion in England’s T20 World Cup squad

In this post, England’s T20 World Cup squad Brett Lee roots for Phil Salt’s inclusio recently came forward to back of star opener performances in ongoing edition of IPL.  Former Australia pacer Brett Lee recently came forward to back the inclusion of star opener Phil Salt in England’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad. Lee opined that Phil Salt’s performances in the ongoing edition of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 should guarantee him a spot in England’s squad.

With nine games played, Salt has scored 392 runs to his name and is one of the highest run-getters of the tournament. Salt joined KKR as a replacement signing, and it is safe to say that Salt has repaid the faith invested in him.

Talking about his performances, Brett Lee was impressed, and the former pacer lauded Salt for his performances, opining that his game looks uncomplicated and that it looks very structured.

“I would definitely pick him. His game to me looks uncomplicated, it looks very structured in a sense where he knows exactly through his mind what he’s doing, doesn’t try to over-hit the ball, he is a very clean hitter of the ball, such a great ball striker, but doesn’t go out there and try to, you know, do all these different funky little shots. The ball’s up, he hits you in the area where he’s meant to hit you, and he backs himself, which is, you know, the most important part of it,” Brett Lee said at a post-match show on Star Sports.
