'I wish him the very best of luck towards the next phase' - Sachin Tendulkar on Jay Shah's appointment as ICC Chairman

Jay Shah was recently appointed as the next (International Cricket Council) ICC Chairman, and many cricketers and fans wished him luck in his new journey. One of them was cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar who praised Shah for his initiatives.

Shah, who at 35 will become the youngest ICC Chairman in history, has spent the last five years revolutionizing the approach to cricket administration in India as the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) secretary. His focus on giving equal importance to both men’s and women’s cricket has set a new standard for cricket boards worldwide. During his tenure, Shah implemented several initiatives to promote women’s cricket, including equal pay for male and female cricketers and increased investment in women’s tournaments.

“Being enthusiastic and having the drive to do something good for cricket are essential qualities for a cricket administrator. Jay Shah displayed these traits wonderfully during his stint as BCCI secretary. His endeavors towards prioritizing both women’s cricket and men’s cricket have made BCCI a pioneer that other boards can follow,” Tendulkar wrote on his ‘X’ handle.
