Star India batter Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant set the stage on fire on day 3 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh. Both batters completed their centuries and put on quite the show against the visitors, helping India post a total of 287 runs before they declared and gave Bangladesh a target of 515 runs to chase down.

It is worth noting that Gill was dismissed for a duck in the first innings, but he made up for it with a knock of 119 runs in the second innings. Both Gill and Pant were seen enjoying their time on the crease, and speaking of the innings, Gill revealed how Pant’s celebrations throughout the day were full of passion. The star batter also revealed that he had to tell Pant to calm down on several occasions as he was hitting his bat too hard.

“I was telling him to not do so because I was playing with a bat that I played the England series with. So, my bat is quite old actually. He was hitting my bat so hard I was telling him I am trying to save my bat. And if he didn’t get it right, while we were in the middle, he would say ‘No, let’s do it again.’ I had to tell him to calm down,” Gill was quoted as saying by News18.
