In a spectacular Test debut, Sarfaraz Khan left an indelible mark on the cricketing canvas. The young Mumbai star showcased his prowess with a fine fifty, only to be undone by an unfortunate run-out.
Anil Kumble, the former Indian captain, humorously compared Sarfaraz Khan’s debut misfortune, a run-out, to his own debut where he faced a similar fate. Kumble, known for his wit, commented on Sarfaraz’s dominating partnership, suggesting that Jadeja’s cautious approach might have influenced the run-out. Despite the shared run-out experience, Kumble jokingly noted that Sarfaraz managed to score 65 runs more than he did on his debut.
“Sarfaraz was dominating in that partnership. Jadeja, I thought had got into a shell, that sometimes creates a mindset where you are not clear about the decision-making. And maybe that was one of the reasons and possibly I passed on my bad luck of getting run out on debut because I got run out on my debut. But at least he got 65 (Sarfaraz scored 62) more,” Anil Kumble said on Jio Cinema.
