England’s batting sensation, Harry Brook was not happy after being dismissed on Day 4 of the third Ashes Test, falling to Mitchell Starc when he was batting comfortably on 75. Brook and Chris Woakes had the crucial partnership on the fourth day as the home side was chasing 251 runs, but the 24-year-old’s innings was cut short when 21 more runs were required. Brook was blown up as the star English batter could not finish the game for his side as the Ben Stokes-led side won the game by three wickets.

However in Ashes 2023, Australia are still leading the series by 2-1 after the Headingley defeat, while England have made a comeback with this win after losing back-to-back games in the five-Test series. Coming back to Brook, he admitted that he watched the game anxiously after being dismissed on the verge of victory, and was furious with himself but later was happy as his side won the game.

“It’s a lot more nerve-wracking when you’re sat up there than in the middle. I’m not one to blow up when I get in the changing room but I had a little blow-up today. I like getting us over the line and yeah, it was annoying that I didn’t today, but I’m happy we won,” Brook was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“Everybody [in the dressing room] erupted. We only needed about 20 runs, and I had complete and utter faith in Woakesy and Woody. It was tense for a little while but when Woody hit that six, we kind of knew it was on,” he further added.

Brook scored the highest  with his 75-run contribution, while opener Zak Crawley also stood strong with 44.
