Rohit Sharma pulled Kuldeep Yadav’s leg with his epic sense of humour after presenting the spinner the ICC ODI Team of the Year cap in New York. This special presentation took place during a promotional shoot for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Some Indian players are in the USA, preparing for the marquee event, while others will be joining over the next few days.
Rohit is renowned for his ability to entertain fans with his hilarious one-liners. Some of his cheeky answers in press conferences over the years have left everyone in splits. While presenting Kuldeep with the prestigious cap, Rohit silenced the wrist spinner with his excellent sense of humour.

“It’s my great pleasure to present this wonderful cap to a wonderful athlete and who has been a real asset for Team India, ICC ODI Team of the Year, Kuldeep,” the Indian skipper said.
“Thank you, Rohit bhai,” a shy Kuldeep replied.
On seeing his teammates shy demeanor, Rohit asked, “You want to say something?”
“No, no, all good,” the 29-year-old replied.
“You should say something,” the legendary opener further pressed Kuldeep for a winning speech.
Feeling his captain’s pressure, Kuldeep said, “I mean, nothing much to say. I mean I had a great season last year, both with the bat and ball.”
Simulating shock, Rohit asked, “Bat?”
An unsettled Kuldeep replied, “Yeah.”
Rohit asked again, “When?”
Visibly flabbergasted, Kuldeep stuttered, “I mean, uh. I mean, uh.”
Rohit hilariously interposed, “I mean uh, when?”
“Test series,” the Kanpur-born sheepishly said.
“This is ODI,” Rohit reminded him.
Trying to delineate himself, Kuldeep stated, “But I performed with the bat as well, so last year I was really good with the ball during the World Cup as well.”
“I am captain of this team. I have never seen him bat. So, I don’t know what is he talking about,” Rohit retorted.
A beaming Kuldeep concluded, “Thank you, Rohit bhai.”
