Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli recently went viral after a video of him being in a vulnerable state made the rounds all over social media. The entire cricketing world was driven into a state of concern seeing Kambli’s condition. In the viral clip, Kambli can be seen using the support of a motorcycle to stand up. Unable to stand up straight, Kambli required assistance from the onlookers as he was taken inside a building.

It is worth noting that Kambli has had health issues over the years, even suffering a heart attack in 2013 despite undergoing angioplasty. The video’s circulation led to Kambli’s friends checking up on him, and according to recent reports, the former cricketer spent hours catching up with his friends, his school classmate Ricky, and first-class umpire Marcus. He ensured they would not believe the clips on social media and branded the viral clip as outdated.

“I am fine, don’t believe social media,” said Kambli to his friends during their recent meet.

Besides, Kambli also had a conversation with his former teammate and BCCI’s general manager, Abey Kuruvilla, along with the newly appointed MCA president, Ajinkya Naik.

“He was in a jolly mood when we met him. He is recovering well and is in much better condition. The video being circulated is outdated. He doesn’t have belly fat and eats his food well. The entire family was present and enjoying each other’s company. His son, Cristiano, also a left-hand batter like his father, was taking batting tips from his father,” Marcus was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.

Kambli shared a historic partnership with Tendulkar in youth cricket

It is worth noting that Vinod Kambli played a lot of matches for the Indian team. The 52-year-old came to prominence alongside the legendary Sachin Tendulkar after they shared a record partnership in youth cricket. He played a total of 17 Tests for the Indian team, where he scored 1084 runs to his name.
