With England clean sweeping the West Indies in their recently-concluded three-match Test series, the standings of the World Test Champions (2023–25) points table has seen some changes. England had already won the first two Tests of the series, but the third Test in Edgbaston was still far from inconseqeuntial for both sides due to the WTC standings.

Coming into the series, England were sitting at the bottom of the WTC standings as they had 19 points deducted for slow over-rates through the competition. Their position did not change despite winning the first Test against the Windies at Lord’s.

However, the result of the second Test at Trent Bridge shot them up in the standings. The win at Trent Bridge lifted England from a points percentage of 25% to 31.25% and sent the West Indies from 26.66% to 22.22%. The biggest change in the standings came after the Edgbaston Test as England have jumped up to sixth place in the standings now with five wins in 12 matches.

India currently occupy the first place with six wins in nine matches, while Australia, who have eight wins in 12 matches, are placed second currently. Speaking of the West Indies, the side now finds itself at the bottom of the standings with just one win in six matches. They will hope for improved showings in the upcoming series against South Africa from August 7.
