‘He’s out now’ – Ricky Ponting’s blunt response on Joe Root’s knock shuts down Kevin Pietersen

The ongoing Ashes opener at Edgbaston is headed towards a thrilling finish as the match is hanging in the balance even after four days of relentless cricket from the arch-rivals. While the fans have been thoroughly entertained by the quality of cricket on display in Birmingham, former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting’s razor-sharp response to shut down Kevin Pietersen has been doing the rounds on social media.

“Well, he’s out now. He got 40,” Ponting quipped in his blunt response.
