Team India are all set to clash with Australia in the high-octane Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final that will be played at the Dubai International Stadium, in Dubai, on Tuesday, March 4. Ahead of the sumptuous battle, there are plenty of cricket experts aka former players who have given their opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of both the teams in the tournament. Joining the bandwagon, the former India all rounder, Suresh Raina, put forth his bold predictions for the knockout game.

The former two-time ICC winning title all-rounder talked about the key factors that could help India win the game against Australia in the semi-final. Notably, Raina gave his opinion in a segment called- ‘Finish the sentence,’ where he talked about who are going to be the key players to help the Men in Blue win the match against the Men in Yellow and what the Indian team should avoid going into the game.

“He will get Man of the Match,” Raina said in his massive prediction when he was questioned about Virat Kohli on StarSports.

Apart from praising the batters, Suresh Raina also mentioned that the main thing the team should avoid going into the match is dot balls where he praises the intent of Shreyas Iyer, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill and also advised KL Rahul to play more positive cricket going forward.

India and Australia in ICC knockouts

Though India might be one of the best teams going into the semi-final winning all three of their matches, they have always been challenged by the Aussies in ICC knockout events. The two teams have faced each other in seven ICC knockout games so far and the Yellow Brigade seems to have an edge over the Men in Blue.

Out of the seven knockout games Australia has won four and India have won three games so far. The last time the two sides faced each other in an ICC knockout match was in the 2023 ODI World Cup final where the Aussies beat them and went on to win their sixth 50-over World Cup title winning the game at the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad.
