Keeper-batter Dhruv Jurel made his India debut in the series against England earlier in the year. He was impressive with both keeping and batting, which helped the cricketer earn a Test contract after the completion of the series. Captain Rohit Sharma too was happy with his effort and is now one of the favourites alongside Rishabh Pant to play all ten Test matches – two against Bangladesh, three against New Zealand and five against Australia.
Meanwhile, Jurel recently shared his impression of Rohit, highlighting the ease with which the captain deals with all the junior cricketers. After the series against England, the captain mentioned that he enjoyed every bit of playing with all the youngsters in the series and it helped that he personally knew most of them. Jurel meanwhile stated that Rohit is very chill and has that casual approach towards juniors, which helps.
“To be honest, he is very chill. Whenever I had a chat with him, it never felt like he was a senior cricketer and I was a junior. He always talks in a very casual manner,” Jurel told SportsTak.

“He always said, ‘If you need any help just come over, I don’t have any problem.’ He always makes you feel comfortable. When my name was announced in the Test squad, I had a chat with him. Everything was so good. It felt like everything was pretty normal,” he added.
When you around him, you feel that aura that Virat Kohli is there: Jurel
Speaking about Virat Kohli, Jurel said that he likes how the star India batter dominates every bowler and that is one aspect that he wants to bring into his game. He added that there’s an aura about Kohli and that he inspires him to get better.
“I always try to learn because he is a legend of cricket. So whenever I talked to him, I only talked about cricket and when you around him, you feel that aura that Virat Kohli is there. So that is a good thing that we feel that we have to do something that we also feel that people have come to ask, that there is aura. Because he has played for like 15 years for India and he has always dominated. So that thing is very inspiring. So I will try to bring that thing in,” said Jurel.
