Without a doubt, the star of the Indian team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy so far has been Jasprit Bumrah. Apart from him, the other Indian bowlers have been subpar. It is safe to say that the right-armer is leading the bowling attack and without his performances and leadership in the first Test, India would have been in a worse situation.
Former Australian pacer Brett Lee praised the Indian strike bowler highly after the Gabba Test for his exploits in the series. Lee termed Bumrah a ‘world-class’ bowler and concluded that he is way ahead of any other Indian bowler.
“He is world class, Jasprit Bumrah. Unfortunately, they had no Mohammed Shami, but I think the backing of Mohammed Siraj—there has been a bit of conjecture around him—but I think he has bowled really well,” Lee told Fox Sports.
“In my opinion, they have an attack that has some good pace bowlers, but the reason why people say or think he is shouldering the whole load of the attack is that he is so good. He (Bumrah) is miles ahead of any other bowler, and that is no disrespect to the other bowlers going around, but that is how good he is,” Lee added.

Jasprit Bumrah: The leading wicket-taker
Bumrah has given incredible performances in the three Tests so far and is currently the leading wicket-taker with 21 wickets at an average of 10.90 and an economy of 2.60. It is safe to say that he has been the best bowler in the series so far and even took his 12th five-wicket haul in the third Test.
The joint-second best bowler in the series are Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins who have taken 14 wickets each. The Aussie pace duo has combined well to trouble the Indian batters with their precise execution of plans for each batter.
