Skipper Suryakumar Yadav lauded youngster Ravi Bishnoi after the latter was adjudged as the Player of the Series. He gave breakthroughs at crucial junctions, including in his first over on four different occasions. Notably, in the final T20I in Bengaluru, Travis Head once again managed to give a blistering start to the visiting team. Yadav soon introduced Bishnoi from one end as the spinner picked up his wicket for 28 runs as Australia had to pull the brake.

On the other hand, Axar Patel once again played a crucial knock in helping India get over the line. Defending only 160 runs, the Men in Blue needed something special in M Chinnaswamy and that’s what the spinners offered. Axar finished his four overs for just 14 runs as India managed to win the match by six runs. Thus, Surya was very impressed with Axar and Bishnoi’s bowling performance and eventually lauded them for their valuable contributions.

“Axar has won back to back Player of the Match awards, which is a big thing. Ravi Bishnoi has regularly been doing well. The way he came back after his first game and won the Player of the Series award was great. He’s shown his class character,” Suryakumar stated in a video released by BCCI.

In the absence of other senior cricketers, Suryakumar Yadav was handed the baton to lead India in the five-match T20I series against Australia. He did a magnificent job as the Men in Blue won the series 4-1 and most importantly, the team management identified some important cricketers who can play a part in the coming times. The likes of Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma walked the talk while Ravi Bishnoi’s effective performance is definitely a massive positive. Hence, the Mumbai-born cricketer was happy to get the job done and especially, as a captain this time around.

“Obviously feeling good after winning the series. On top of that as a captain, it feels good. This is a new angle in life. It feels good and the people also supported me as well, the support staff and players,” said Suryakumar.
