‘Having all of us together for Aai’s birthday is the best thing’ – Sachin Tendulkar celebrates mother’s birthday

Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday, August 29, celebrated his mother Rajni Tendulkar‘s 87th birthday. Tendulkar has always been known for his close-knit family ties. Throughout his illustrious career and even after retirement, Tendulkar has consistently shown the importance of family in his life, regularly sharing photos of his moments with his dear ones.

The image saw Rajni Tendulkar cutting her birthday cake, surrounded by her loving family members. “Having all of us together for Aai’s birthday is the best thing one could ask for. We love you so much, Aai. You mean the world to us. Happy birthday! तुझ्या प्रेमाच्या सावलीतच आम्ही सुखी आहोत. वाढदिवसाच्या शुभेच्छा, आई.” he wrote on X.

I had requested BCCI to keep my farewell match in Mumbai so that my mother can see me playing: Sachin

During his farewell Test match in 2013, Tendulkar shared that he had specifically requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to host his final game in Mumbai. His intention was to surprise his mother and allow her to watch him play one last time.

“I had requested BCCI to keep my farewell match in Mumbai so that my mother can see me playing. I wanted it to be a surprise; she came to know from you (the media). My mother was extremely happy to see me play. I had requested the MCA to keep a room for me at the guesthouse, but my mother preferred to sit and watch every ball. When I went to meet her in the president’s box, I could see it in her eyes,” Tendulkar further mentioned.
